For two weeks in July, 2016, Anthony traveled across Australia speaking and leading workshops as part of a national food system tour sponsored by Sustain: The Australian Food Network, The Open Food Network and several other organizations. Organized by Nick Rose, the tour began with an inaugural two-day conference on food hubs, at which Anthony did both a keynote presentation and a workshop. For the following two weeks, we traversed the country, from Melbourne to Tasmania to Perth (and several spots in between). At each stop Anthony did a public presentation to the community in the evening, followed the next day by a 3 – 4 hour work session with local leaders intent on strengthening their food systems. What a terrific way to learn a bit about this fascinating country, while contributing a bit to the development of local food systems in several regions.
