Urban Agriculture Initiative in Minneapolis partners with SCALE in Design and Development Stage

SCALE joined Terra Soma, a Minneapolis-based planning and facilitation consulting firm, to assist them in the design, planning, development and launch of a major urban agriculture initiative, tentatively scheduled to begin in 2015. The project is focused on developing critically needed infrastructure to support both emerging urban growers and established farmers with season extension, organic production, aggregation and distribution, and building new markets. A multi farm work place-based CSA will be central to market expansion efforts, along with partnerships with Emergency Food-shelf Network and other groups working to expand food access. SCALE is assisting in outreach, market analysis and development of a new base of local food consumers, and refining of the business plan for the initiative.
